Local Auditions!

Kings Mountain Little Theatre, founding sponsors Gilbert and Jancy Patrick, and presenting sponsor Albemarle, announce upcoming auditions for "Liberty Mountain, The Revolutionary Drama.” Artistic Director Jeremy Homesley and Music Director Ashley DeMar urge everyone interested to come join in the fun of participating in the production of this historical drama from playwright Robert Inman.

Liberty Mountain depicts the dramatic events leading to the October 7, 1780 Battle of Kings Mountain. It brings to life the story of Carolina Backcountry patriots who, with their unexpected victory, helped secure our nation's liberty. The indoor live-performance features full theater action, music, epic battles with stage combat, live-fire & other special effects. The cast and crew of approximately 35 has onstage – and behind the curtain! – opportunities for ages 10 and up. Some actors and technicians will receive a salary for the 6 week commitment, from late August thru early October. Performances are every weekend beginning September 19, 2025 and ending October 12, 2025. More details and Virtual Audition Applications available at www.libertymountaindrama.com.

Audition dates are Thursday, April 24th & Friday, April 25th and Wednesday, May 7th & Thursday, May 8th from 6:00-8:00PM under the tent at the Liberty Mountain Garden next to the the Joy Theatre, 202 S. Railroad Avenue, Kings Mountain, NC. There are roles for approximately 5-10 women, 15-20 men, 3-5 pre-teen and teenage girls and boys, and 4-6 technical and administrative positions available. There are open performance opportunities for lead and supporting actors, ensemble, musicians, as well as backstage and technical positions available.

Liberty Mountain hires professional as well as amateur actors and teaching artists to create our exciting and world-changing show. There are over 20 parts for actors and performers of all ages and backgrounds. Local auditions will be announced soon, and our production team travels to the South Eastern Theatre Conference each year to hire our staff. If you have experience with stage combat, live-firing weaponry, or performance in general, please consider auditioning for this show. Liberty Mountain hires 3-5 theatrical technicians and volunteers, ranging from Stage Management, Costuming, Lighting Design, Light Board Operation and Sound Design, as well as General Technicians and Assistants to each department. Liberty Mountain uses advanced theatrical lighting, projections, sound, pyrotechnics, and other special effects to bring history to life. Liberty Mountain needs a team of volunteers and interns to keep our show safe, organized, and consistent on and off stage. We need help providing backstage childcare, ushering, box office and concession attendants, and there are even performance and technical volunteer positions for those interested in learning about and adding professional theatre and performance experience to their resume.
